I have a dual boot XP/Vista system. Vista installed without any hickups at all - I was very impressed with that. However, I'm having a problem printing.
I have an HP Officejet 6110 connected via USB. Vista recognized it and seems to have loaded all the default HP drivers. If I unplug the printer, vista sees that action and marks the printer offline. If I plug it back in, Vista changes the printer status to online.
I can also look at all the normal printer properties and change items like sharing, paper size, color, and a whole host of defaults.
However, when I try to print (from any application) or try to print a test page, I get the following error:- Test page failed to print. Operation could not be completed. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling a few times (trying to fake it out) and... no printing.
Does anyone have any ideas or has anyone managed to get an officejet connected via USB to work?
Thanks, Steve

This is what worked for me (with a Laserjet 3015 All-in-One USB printer):
Remove the printer from Printers folder. Load your XP printer driver CD under Vista and run setup in Compability Mode for XP sp2. This worked for me.

I did as skypilott2 suggested. I unplugged the usb cable from the computer, loaded the HP 6110 cd and uninstalled the hp 6110 from the computer. When I restarted the computer, it said my drivers were installed and ready. I opened a file and it printed perfectly!!! I had all but given up on getting my printer to print until I found this forum. THANK YOU !!!
